This Life I Live: Best Night Ever!!!

Okay, so maybe it wasn't the best night ever, but last Wednesday I had one of the best night's ever! Do you know why???? Two words....David Cook!

Here's how it all went down:

I love me some David, so when I found out he was coming to Greenville with Gavin Degraw, I emailed my friends to see who wanted to go. When no one answered, I pondered going myself cause....I love me some David! However, one night I was talking to Lucy (who lives with us while she is raising support to go on staff with Campus Crusade at Duke) and found out that she loves Gavin as much as I love David...so off to Greenville we went!

Let me first tell you how amazing the concert was! Both Gavin and David did an hour each and were both awesome! I totally love Gavin Degraw now, and David as always...was fabulous! My favorite was the last song he did, called Fade into Me. It is one of my faves off of his new album and it was just him and the guitar! Here is the little sample I recorded on my phone!

While we were waiting for the concert to start, we met a girl who told us that if you bought $45 worth of merchandise, you could meet the guys after the show. We were not feeling that, but I told Lucy to follow the people with the blue bracelets, so that we might get a little peak at the guys when they came out.

After the show, we found the line of people waiting for pics and autographs and waited where we thought David and Gavin would be standing. After waiting a while, we turned around to find the entire line of people turned in the opposite direction....so we quickly went over to the front of the line. When we did, this is what we found:

Umm., in case you aren't sure who these lovelies are...let me inform you that they are in fact David Cook and Gavin Degraw!

So, we continued to wait as people were going through the line, all the while just watching the guys talk to everyone passing through. They could see us from where they were standing, and were probably thinking something like, "who are the weird girls who are just creeping, and not getting in line?"! The whole time we were standing there, we were planning our efforts to meet them. I even had a plan about what I might say (it involved Ethiopia, NY..., my undying devotion, you know lots of great stuff!). We were going to wait until everyone who had paid went through, and then get at the end of the line. We finally did (after an hour and a half) get in line, and then the moment came! We were worried we would be stopped because we didn't have our bracelets, but we just handed our camera to the guy, and off we went to meet our guys! Lucy went straight to Gavin and asked for a hug. I passed right by him, and made a B-line to David, and said and amazing, NOTHING!! I was totally speechless, and could not do anything but stare and answer his questions! Then we took this picture:

After the pic, Gavin poked his head around and introduced himself to me, which was very nice! I actually was excited to meet him, but just really couldn't get past meeting David Cook!!!! Overall, it was sooooooo worth the wait, and turned out to be a super awesome night! Here are the rest of the pics, in case you were dying to see them!!
