Best News Yet!!!

So......we had a court date on Friday, the 21st, and we found out today that it was a successful one!!! What that means is that in 4-8 weeks we get to go to Ethiopia to get Layla and Maya!!! Yay!!!

On a side note, God is so faithful even when our faith is teeny tiny! Since we hadn't heard anything on Friday, I was kind of discouraged. During my time with God, I realized that my "default" mode was to doubt....not to hope and have faith. So I prayed that God would build in me a "default" of faith and hope! And in His graciousness He not only kept me "hoping" this weekend, but He increased my faith by answering my prayers (as He has been doing throughout this whole process!)! I am super encouraged, but know that God is good no matter what would have happened! Please keep praying for the next few weeks that things would go smoothly, and that God would continue to prepare our hearts as well as the girls' hearts to be together!!!

We love you guys, and are so thankful for all of your prayers, thoughts and encouragement! We will continue to update you with new info as we get it!

Court Date

Just a quick update. We found out our court date is actually the 21st of August (which is Friday)! So please pray that all goes well Friday (Thursday night our time!) so that we can get the girls! The courts are actually closing at the end of the day on Friday for a month and a half......so we are praying that everything gets done and approved so we can travel in September sometime!!!

Thanks!

So we got an email from our case worker here, saying that she recieved some good news last night.....we have a court date! Right now it is Aug. 22nd (but she is checking on that since that is a Saturday!!). However, we do have one, and apparently at just the right time! The courts are closing soon (maybe the day after our case!) so please pray that everything goes perfectly smoothly with this upcoming court date! We are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ready to get the girls! I will post the for sure date whenever I hear back about it! Thanks again for your prayers and thoughts!!

A little bit of progress!

So...I have been praying for the last couple of days that God would show us if He wants us to continue pursuing these girls with this agency, or if He would have us pursue something else. We have always believed that even though there are a lot of things that have so frustrated us with this agency, that God has led us to them, more specifically to these girls, and we need to keep pursuing one step at a time. I admit that it has been really hard to trust God with this, as so much about this seems to be pointing towards it not working out! So, I prayed this morning that He would confirm in our hearts that we are exactly where He wants us to be...pursuing exactly what He has for us to pursue. As usual He was faithful ( and as usual, He answered differently than I would have liked!). Below is the email that we got from our social worker!

Dear Esteban and Danielle,
I just received word from Kent that the West Sands license has been renewed, and they have been able to obtain court dates for a few families. They expect to get a court date for you very soon. I will keep you posted.

So, please keep praying!!
